Here are 7 of My Personal Favorites from West Orlando!

1. À Brasileria Bar & Grill
Food: Brazilian

À Brasileria – the Brazil in Orlando. Apart from its flavorful dishes and great service, enjoy a caipirinha (brazil’s national cocktail) after a long day of work with live music on Thursday nights.
My recommendations: Bacalhau (codfish cake), Picanha À Brasileira (8 oz of Brazilian style top sirloin USDA choice topped with crispy garlic, white rice, black beans, and french fries), caipirinha.

2. El Potro

Food: Mexican

Since 1985, El Potro has brought the authentic taste and atmosphere of Mexico to its customers. Providing a delicious and enjoyable experience. Don’t miss out on their 2-for-1 Sangrias or Margaritas!
My Recommendations: Enchiladas Verdes (Green chili chicken enchiladas with rice and beans), Xamgo (cheesecake rolled in a flakey tortilla pastry served with ice cream) Sangrias or Margaritas.
Tip: If you want to try multiple foods consider ordering from the combinations dinners (mix & match).

3. Zaman Cuisine

Food: Mediterranean/Middle Eastern

Zaman Cuisine is a must-visit! Great service, and food freshly prepared with care and grace. If you get the pleasure of meeting the owner – he’ll greet you with a smile and his passion for food.
My recommendations: Chicken Shawarma Sandwich w/ Fries, Freshly Squeeze Mango Juice and Hummus.

4. Hawkers Asian Street Fare
Food: Asian Fusion

Hawkers blend Asian street fare with recipes that have been passed down from generations. If you’re craving the unapologetic flavors of true Asian food – dumplings with bounce, spicy curries, crisp pork belly, and more – then this is the spot for you.
My Recommendations: Beef Haw Fun (wide rice noodles, sliced steak, spring onions, bean sprouts, onions, soy sauce), Steamed Baos (steam bao buns filled with either – duck, pork belly or Seoul hot chicken), Kin’s Prawn Mee (spicy prawn broth, shrimp, chicken, wheat noodles, hard-boiled egg, yow Choy, bean sprouts, fried shallots).
TIP: I stop by during happy hour for tapas-style small plates at a fraction of the price.

5. Achilles Art Cafe

Orlando coffee shop and cafe with a European flair that supports local artists. Achilles Art Cafe’s ambiance, sandwiches, beer, and wine selection provides you with a unique and awesome experience that is perfect for a first date, studying, or simply to relax with a good book.
My Recommendations: Ham Turkey Pineapple Sandwich (pressed with provolone, sun-dried tomato, & grape jelly on french bread), Parmesan Fries, Coconut Macaroon Latte.

6. Le Cafe de Paris
Food: French
Address: 5170 Dr Phillips Blvd, Orlando, FL 32819
After owning and operating seven café-coffee shops in, and around Metz, France – owner, Claude decided to bring the same French charm to Orlando. Le Cafe De Paris serves Croque-monsieurs and light fare, plus coffee, pastries & homemade gelato.
My Recommendations: Croque-Madame (ham, swiss cheese, tomatoes, with a sunny side up egg on toast), Nutella crepe with strawberries, Cappuccino.

7. Teak

Teak prides itself on using fresh, local and organic ingredients as often as possible in order to deliver the best quality food and service while providing a relaxing and enjoyable environment. Teak’s specialty? Handcrafted burgers, cocktails and craft beers. Cheers!
My Recommendations: Cronie Burger (French doughnut” tossed with cinnamon-sugar served with a half-pound Angus burger topped with maple-pepper bacon, smoked Gouda cheese and an over med egg), Jake Knife Burger (8oz of beef, Jack Daniels Hollandaise sauce, tomato, smoked bacon, scallop potato, white cheddar cheese on a brioche bun), Pesto Chicken Flat Bread, and the Garlic Bistro Fries.
